We are located at Ku’ia Farm above the bypass, directly off of Lahainaluna road.
With state-of-the-art commercial composting equipment, we are able to compost up to 70% of the types of materials in our municipal solid waste stream that are currently being landfilled.
While we are a relatively small operation now, over the next few years our goal is to scale our facility to meet 100% of the composting needs of our West Maui community.
We are the only compost facility on Maui permitted by the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH) to accept food waste and compostable food service ware.
This means that we have invested in commercial composting equipment designed to compost these materials. Every aspect of our operation, from our environmental controls to our collection and processing techniques, have been scrutinized and approved by the HDOH to ensure we are composting in a way that is 100% safe for and respectful of our West Maui community, and our unique ecosystem.

We do NOT accept:
“Biodegradable” products
most commonly found in utensils
These types of utensils have many different labels, including:

“Made From Plants”
…and the list goes on.

Don’t feel bad! There is an entire industry dedicated to misleading the well-intentioned public, making products that are terrible for the environment and marketing them as solutions.
At WMGC, we are onto them.
We will help you make the right product choices if you are a business we partner with, and give you a laminated acceptable products sheet if you are a residence that we collect from (put it on your fridge!).
We have limited availability, so please reach out today to compost with us!
We are offering pick-up for food waste and compostable food service ware for West Maui residences, restaurants, hotels, and businesses.
No site drop-off is available at this time, but will be in the future.
We only offer drop-off services for Tree Trimming and Landscape Maintenance companies.
